| Exhibition: Finnish architecture 0809 |
|
After its opening in 2010 at the Museum of Finnish Architecture the Finnish Architecture 0809 exhibition arrived to Hungary. The exhibition displays a number of future classics – a selection of works by Finnish architects from 2008 and 2009.
While the works represent different approaches and various architectural languages, they share a carefully considered relation to context in terms of culture, time and place. Included are buildings for living, office work, day care, education, culture and production, and urban schemes. The exhibition is accompanied by a book published in English, Finnish Architecture 0809, which in addition to project presentations includes writings from experts and persons interested in architecture as well as catalogues of events. The writers are Heikki Aitoaho, Selina Anttinen and Johan Celsing (selectors of the works displayed), Peter MacKeith (architect, USA), Matti Kalliokoski (editor of the Ilkka newspaper) Tomi Kontio (poet and writer). The organizers of the biennial surveys, - of which this one is the fourth -, are the Alvar Aalto Academy, the Finnish Association of Architects SAFA and the Museum of Finnish Architecture. The Finnish Architecture 0809 exhibition is made possible by Finnagora and Museum of Finnish Architecture. The exhibition will be held at the Budapest Center of Architecture, FUGA 28.10.–15.11.2011. |
